Hi, I’m Julie and I’m a lazy girl.
Today I am doing Day 1 of the Insanity workout program. I decided to create this website to keep myself accountable, and hopefully to help someone else who has the same fitness challenges that I do.
I have a really busy work schedule, and when I get home there’s nothing that I’d rather do than cuddle on the couch with my husband and 100 lb. lap dog. But instead I’m making this commitment to jump up and down in front of the couch like a crazy person rather than catching up with last season of Dexter. Why, you ask? Because I want to live a long life, and be healthy and active enough to enjoy it. But mostly I just want to look good in a bathing suit. And we all know that’s not gonna happen if I sit at a desk all day long and on my couch all night long.
So here’s me being honest with you – this isn’t my first rodeo. I started Insanity the first time a few months ago. My husband and I both made it to the 6th week before The Great Cold of 2011 hit. We were both sick, and then I was behind at work, and Insanity just went sideways.
But enough excuses. I want to make my fitness a priority. So I am starting fresh with Day 1, and sharing my journey with you. I’ll be honest with you. Sometimes working out sucks. But if you quit you won’t get the results they show on the infomercials. Who knows, maybe us mere mortals who can’t do one-armed push-ups will never look like that. But I have to try.
So I weighed in at 137.6 pounds, and I’m off to do my fit test. I’ll check in soon with my results.
